The first time you sign in, a Finish setting up Bettr card sits at the top of your home dashboard. It's a short checklist that takes you from an empty workspace to your whole operation — companies, team, roles, accounting, and the stock already in the building — running in one place. Work it from the top down, one row at a time.
Each row is one setup task with a button that drops you on the exact screen to finish it. The first three are required; the last three are optional — skip any of them and Bettr still runs.
Add your companies
A company in Bettr is one plant or legal entity you run — a production kitchen and a separate commissary count as two. Press Add companies to open Companies and create each one you operate.
Invite your team
Bring the people who work your floor and your office into Bettr so nobody re-keys data between tools. Press Invite teammates to open Employees, where you add each person.
Set who sees and changes what
Decide what each person can see and change with a . Press Set up roles to open Roles, build the roles your operation needs, and assign them.
Connect your accounting system
Bettr connects to the accounting system you already run on, so your numbers stay in one book. Press Connect to open Integrations, where you link QuickBooks Online or Odoo. This step is optional — Bettr runs without it.
Load your opening inventory
Bring the stock already in your freezers and racks into Bettr, so your counts start true from day one. Press Load inventory to open Opening inventory, a grid where you enter each lot by hand in one sitting. The row checks itself off as soon as any stock item is on the books — whether you typed it in, received it on a purchase order, or pulled it from Odoo.
Run your first Odoo pull
If you connected Odoo, one more row appears. Press Pull from Odoo to open Odoo and run the first pull, which brings your products, vendors, and purchase orders across. This row shows only once Odoo is connected, and Odoo needs the Purchasing module, so you'll see it on the Kitchen plan and up.
The card reads your real setup, so a step you already finished shows as done the moment you land — you never mark anything by hand.
Once you finish every step — required and optional — the card clears itself and your dashboard shows only the day's work. If you'd rather stop at the required steps and leave the optional ones, a Dismiss button appears in the card's top-right corner to hide it for good.
You can't dismiss until the required steps are done
The Dismiss button only appears after your companies, team, and roles are set. That's on purpose — those three are what the rest of Bettr is built on, so the card keeps them in front of you until they're done.
Dismissing is per operation, not per person, so once you clear the card it stays gone for everyone on your team. From here, your dashboard is the day's work: today's run, quick actions, and the modules your plan turns on.
