A delivery lands Thursday, and the dry-store bay you want to stage it in still has three pallets of rice on it from last month. You need those pallets one rack over before the truck backs in — and you need the move to stick, so tomorrow's count doesn't send someone hunting. In Bettr you don't retype where stock lives; you move it, and the hop from one spot to the next is recorded. Open Stock locations, open the location the stock sits in now, and its Move action is waiting beside each lot.
Open the location it's in now
In the top navigation, open Inventory and select Stock locations, then open the location holding the you need to shift. Under Contents, every lot in the spot has a Move button.
Start the move
Select Move beside the lot. The move panel opens naming the product, its
lot number, and the spot it's leaving — from RAC_A03_S01.
Pick the destination
Choose a location from the list. Each option shows its code, an occupancy badge — Same Product, Empty, Other Product, Multiple Products, or No Capacity Tracking — and how many cases it can still take. Selecting one opens a Destination panel with its total, current, and available cases. Use Search by code or name or the Sort control to bring a spot up, and switch to Other Locations to consider spots that already hold a different product.
Set the quantity and move
Enter how many cases to move — up to the Maximum available shown for the lot — then select Move. Bettr drops you back on the location's detail with Item moved successfully.
You can move part of a lot
Enter a quantity below the lot's on-hand and the rest stays where it is. The same lot number then sits in two places, each with its own count — which is exactly how a single batch ends up split across a cooler and a rack.
The list only offers spots a lot can actually go, so it's often shorter than your full location list — and sometimes empty. Bettr leaves a location out when:
When nothing qualifies, the panel doesn't just go blank — it names why the pool came up empty. It tells you which storage class the lot needs, and when the source is tied to a particular warehouse, that a destination has to sit in that same warehouse — then points you to Other Locations in case a spot there already holds a different product. Often the fix is another bin under the same warehouse; you can set one up and come back.
A move is recorded as a . The lot leaves the source's contents and lands in the destination's, and you see the change the moment you open either location — or the lot itself, where Locations now lists both spots if you split it.
What a move does not touch is how much you have on hand. You hold the same cases either way; they're just somewhere else. That's why a transfer isn't part of the Stock movements ledger — that feed tracks stock arriving and leaving, and a move does neither.
Looking for the move in Stock movements?
You won't find it there. The movements ledger records changes to on-hand quantity, and a location-to-location transfer leaves your total untouched. To confirm a move landed, open the destination location's contents or the lot's own detail.
