You keep jasmine rice and basmati rice, and either one works in the same bowls. Telling Bettr they're a lets a run that calls for one pull the other, so a swap on the floor never means rewriting a recipe. This page maps every field, column, and permission on the list where your groups live and the form where you build them. Open Product groups, under Production, to read along.
Product groups sit under Production in the top navigation, not under Inventory — grouping products is a production tool, even though the products themselves are managed under Inventory → Products. The screen lists every group in the company shown in the top navigation; switch companies there and the list follows.
The list holds one row per group. Three controls sit above it:
A Clear all link appears once a search or a non-default sort is active and returns the list to its default. When no group matches, the list reads No product groups found. Once you have more groups than fit on a page, a per-page selector and pager sit below the list.

Selecting a row — or New — opens the same form, titled New product group or Edit product group. It carries three fields:
The action button reads Create on a new group and Save on an existing one. It stays disabled until at least one product is checked — a group needs members to have anything to interchange. Cancel closes the form without saving.
Every change is a new version
Product groups are never overwritten. Each time you create or save a group, Bettr records a new version and keeps the previous one, so the full history stays intact; the list always shows the latest. See How inventory works in Bettr for why records are kept this way.
The edit form carries a Danger zone with a Delete product group button. Deleting removes the group from every list and picker, so no run treats its products as interchangeable again.
A deleted group leaves the lookups but stays on the record
Deletion is logged as an event, not erased — the underlying record is kept for audit — but there is no undo. If you need a deleted group back, rebuild it by hand.
A group does its work in Production runs. When a run consumes a recipe ingredient, it doesn't limit itself to the exact product the recipe names — it treats every other product in that product's group as a stand-in. A run that calls for jasmine rice can draw from your basmati lots too, as long as both sit in the same group.
