You run the warehouse in Odoo and keep your recipes, lots, and food-safety records in Bettr Manager. After a busy production week the two drift: say Bettr shows 40 cases of jasmine rice on hand while Odoo counts 46. Typing 46 straight into Bettr would bury the six-case gap instead of leaving any trace of it. Open Products next to this page and pick a product that's linked to Odoo to follow along.
This is the Odoo path
This check compares a product against a connected Odoo instance, so it's only available once your company is connected and the product is linked to an Odoo record. Connecting Odoo is a company setting — see Connect Odoo. Not connected to Odoo? Correct stock with an inventory count instead.
To one product, you run a check and apply what it finds.
Open the product's Odoo check
Open Inventory → Products and find the product — search by name or code, or use the Odoo sync filter to jump to the ones out of sync. A linked product shows its status on the row: Not checked, In sync, or Divergence. Hover the row and select the sync icon, labeled Sync stock with Odoo. The drawer opens.
Run the check
Select Run check. Bettr reads the on-hand it holds for the product, location by location and lot by lot, and compares it against what Odoo reports for the same product.
Read the divergence
When the totals match, the drawer reads In sync with Odoo and there's nothing to do. When they don't, it reads Divergence and shows the totals side by side — Odoo, BM (Bettr Manager), and Δ, the difference between them. Below, one row per location and lot lists Odoo's quantity, Bettr's, and the delta: a green + where Odoo holds more than Bettr, an amber figure where Bettr holds more.
Apply the difference
If the two disagree and your role can change products, select the apply button — its label tells you what will happen, from adding placements to reducing Bettr to match. Bettr books in the stock that's missing where Odoo holds more, draws Bettr down where it holds more, and returns you to the products list with a note of what changed. Run the check again any time; the drawer keeps the date of the last one.
Applying never types over a number. Where Odoo holds more than Bettr, it books the difference in as new stock; where Bettr holds more, it removes the surplus, drawing down the lots that expire soonest first. Both are written to the ledger and tagged Odoo Sync, so the correction reads like any other movement: the product, the lot, who ran it, and how many cases, plus or minus. Nothing is erased — the before and the after both survive. How inventory works in Bettr covers why the whole catalog is kept that way.
Applying can reduce your on-hand
When Bettr holds more than Odoo, applying removes the surplus from Bettr, drawing down your soonest-to-expire lots first. Make sure Odoo's count is the one you trust before you apply: the reduction is recorded as an outbound movement, not something you undo by editing a field.
The Odoo check assumes Odoo is your system of record for physical stock and brings Bettr in line with it. That's the right tool when the two systems have drifted apart. When you're not connected to Odoo, or when the discrepancy is something you found on the floor — a short pallet, a miscount at receiving — correct it with an inventory count instead: you count location by location and apply the variance per lot. Either way the correction lands as recorded movements, never an overwrite.
If your role can view products but not change them, you can still run the check and read the divergence — you just won't see the apply button, because reconciling is a change and needs edit access.
